Ballyclare —County Antrim

Located in the historical Six Mile Valley in County Antrim, Ballyclare has suffered a whole load of invaders over the last 5,000 years including the Vikings and the Normans. Just as the Pilgrim Fathers landed in America, the town was finally settled by Scots planters. Gulliver's Travel's author Jonathan Swift preached here and it was from here that the families of Mark Twain, Sam Houston and General Alexander Macomb left for America.
